We make it easy to get the documentation you need without waiting for GP appointments - everything is done online and delivered digitally. FastDoc provides documentation services only and does not replace your NHS GP.
Is FastDoc a replacement for my NHS GP?
No, FastDoc is designed to complement your NHS GP, not replace them. We are a documentation service — perfect for getting medical certificates and letters quickly. For ongoing health concerns, diagnosis, or treatment plans, you should always consult your NHS GP or visit A&E for emergencies.
Who can use FastDoc?
Anyone in the UK aged 18 or over can use FastDoc services. For certain services like medical letters, we may have specific eligibility criteria which are checked during the online consultation process.
Do I need an account to use FastDoc?
No, you don't need to create an account. You can use our services as a guest, though we'll need your email address to send you the medical documentation.
What services does FastDoc currently offer?
Currently, we offer Medical Letters & Certificates including work sick notes, travel cancellation letters, pregnancy fit to fly certificates, gym cancellation letters, student sick notes, travel with medication letters, and workplace adjustment letters. Additional services are in development for 2026.
Can I use FastDoc for emergencies?

Medical Letters
What types of medical letters do you provide?
We provide 7 types of medical letters: Work Sick Notes, Travel & Holiday Cancellation Letters, Pregnancy Fit to Fly Certificates, Gym Membership Cancellation Letters, Student Sick Notes, Travel with Medication Letters, and Workplace Adjustment Letters. Each is reviewed and issued by qualified UK doctors.
Are FastDoc medical letters accepted by employers and insurers?
Yes. Our letters are issued by qualified UK doctors and include full doctor details and GMC registration numbers. They are accepted by employers, travel insurers, airlines, gyms, universities, and institutions across the UK. Each letter is a legitimate medical document.
How quickly will I receive my medical letter?
We offer two service levels: Standard (£24.99) - same day if ordered before 8pm; Priority (£49.95) - top of the queue for fastest possible processing. Most requests are reviewed and issued within a few hours.
Do I need to speak to a doctor to get a medical letter?
No live consultation is required. You complete a simple online form with your details and medical information. A qualified UK doctor reviews your submission and issues your letter if it is clinically appropriate. If the doctor needs more information, they will contact you.
Can I get a sick note for any illness?
We can provide sick notes for most common illnesses and injuries that prevent you from working. However, there are some conditions we cannot cover, particularly those requiring in-person examination or ongoing specialist care. Our online form will check eligibility before you pay.
How long can a sick note be for?
Our sick notes can typically cover periods from 1 day up to 2 weeks. For longer periods, you should see your NHS GP as this usually indicates a more serious condition requiring ongoing medical care.
Will my medical letter be backdated?
We can only backdate letters by a few days and only in appropriate circumstances. The doctor will use their clinical judgement to determine if backdating is appropriate based on your condition and situation.
Can I get a fit note (statement of fitness for work)?
Yes, our work sick notes confirm you are unfit for work due to illness and include all necessary information for your employer, equivalent to a standard fit note.
What if my airline doesn't accept the fit to fly letter?
Our pregnancy fit to fly letters meet standard airline requirements and are issued by qualified UK doctors. If you have specific airline requirements, check them before ordering. In the rare case an airline does not accept our letter, contact us at hello@fastdoc.co.uk.
Can I use FastDoc letters for insurance claims?
Yes, our letters are legitimate medical documents issued by qualified UK doctors and can be used for insurance claims. Always check your specific insurance policy requirements as some insurers may have particular documentation needs.
Doctors & Medical Safety
Are FastDoc doctors real UK doctors?
Yes, absolutely. Every doctor who reviews cases for FastDoc is a fully qualified medical doctor registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK. All our doctors have valid GMC registration numbers which appear on every letter they issue.
Can I verify my doctor's GMC registration?
Yes. Every letter includes the reviewing doctor's full name and GMC registration number. You can verify any UK doctor's registration by visiting the GMC website at gmc-uk.org and searching for their details.
Will I see the same doctor every time?
Not necessarily. Our doctors work on a rota system, so you may see different doctors for different requests. However, all our doctors follow the same clinical standards and guidelines, ensuring consistent quality of review.
What if the doctor doesn't think my request is appropriate?
If our doctor determines that issuing a letter is not clinically appropriate for your situation, they will decline your request and provide an explanation. You will receive a full refund within 3 business days. Clinical safety always comes first.
Does FastDoc offer any services other than medical letters?
Currently, FastDoc provides medical letters and certificates only. We do not supply, dispense, or issue any medication or pharmaceutical products. Additional documentation services are in development for 2026.
Are FastDoc doctors insured?
Yes, all FastDoc doctors maintain professional indemnity insurance as required by the GMC. This protects both the doctors and patients in their clinical decision-making.
How do doctors review my case without seeing me?
Our doctors review the detailed information you provide in your online consultation form. For medical letters, this is often sufficient as the doctor is confirming information you have provided. If the doctor needs more information or feels an in-person examination is necessary, they will let you know.
Pricing & Payment
How much do FastDoc services cost?
Medical letters are priced at two service levels: Standard £24.99 (same day if ordered before 8pm) and Priority £49.95 (top of the queue for fastest processing). The same price applies to all letter types within each service level. See our pricing page for full details.
Are there any hidden fees?
No, absolutely not. The price you see is the price you pay. There are no hidden fees, no subscription charges, and no surprise costs. You only pay when you use our services.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and we never store your card details.
When do I pay?
You pay when you submit your consultation form. Payment must be completed before a doctor reviews your request. This ensures our doctors can focus on clinical review rather than payment collection.
Can I get a refund if my letter cannot be issued?
Yes. If our doctor determines they cannot issue your letter for clinical reasons, you will receive a full refund within 3 business days - no questions asked. This is our FastDoc Refund Guarantee. However, if you simply change your mind after the doctor has reviewed and issued your letter, we cannot offer a refund as the service has been completed.
Do you offer discounts or promotions?
We occasionally run promotions for new customers or specific services. The best way to hear about these is to follow us on social media or sign up for our newsletter. We also offer arrangements for businesses - contact hello@fastdoc.co.uk for details.
Can my employer pay for FastDoc services?
Yes, many employers use FastDoc to help their employees get sick notes and other documentation quickly. We can set up corporate accounts and invoicing for businesses. Contact us at hello@fastdoc.co.uk to discuss business solutions.
Why is FastDoc more affordable than other private medical services?
We keep costs down through smart automation and digital-first processes. There is no expensive clinic rent, no reception staff, and no wasted time. Our doctors can review cases efficiently online, and we pass these savings on to you while maintaining high clinical standards.
