Our letters are issued by GMC-registered UK doctors following an independent clinical review, and include the doctor's full name, signature and GMC registration number so your employer can verify them. In our experience employers accept them without difficulty, and many of our customers tell us exactly that. That said, employers set their own absence policies and some have specific documentation requirements, so if you are unsure we'd encourage you to check with your HR department first, or email support@fastdoc.co.uk before ordering.

Delivery speed is selected at checkout. Standard service delivers your letter same day for £29.95 when ordered before 8pm. If you need it urgently, our Premium service prioritises your clinical review, usually within 30-90 minutes. Once issued, your letter is sent directly to your email as a PDF.

If, following clinical review, the doctor is unable to certify your absence, they will explain why and you will receive a full refund. You are never charged for a letter that cannot be issued.

You'll receive an email confirming we have your request. A GMC-registered doctor then reviews the information you provided. If they need anything further to assess your case safely, we'll contact you by email. Once your letter is approved and signed, it is sent straight to your inbox as a PDF.

No. FastDoc is designed for situations where getting a GP appointment is not possible or practical. Our GMC-registered doctors assess your case remotely based on the information you provide. This is a genuine clinical review, not a formality - if the doctor cannot safely certify your absence, or believes you need to be seen in person, they will tell you rather than issue a letter.

You'll be asked for your personal details, your employer's name if applicable, details of your condition or symptoms, and the dates you need certified. You usually won't need to upload medical records or previous GP letters - but if the reviewing doctor needs anything further to assess your case safely, we'll contact you.

Our doctors can certify a range of durations depending on your condition. The doctor will assess your case and recommend an appropriate period of absence. If you need more time afterwards, you can request a further letter.

Usually not. In the UK you can self-certify the first 7 calendar days of sickness absence, which means you tell your employer you were unwell without providing medical documentation. Most employers ask for something in writing from day 8 onwards. Check your employer's own absence policy, as some ask for documentation earlier.

Where clinically appropriate, the doctor can note that you may be able to work with certain adjustments, such as reduced hours, amended duties or workplace adaptations. Mention this in the form so the doctor can consider it as part of your review.
